The Time is Near

I did not write this story to emphasize or glorify death. This book represents a triumphant walk with the Lord to overcome the overwhelming grip death once had on me. This journey was once scary, empowering, and enlightening. Along the way, I leaned into the Word of God to seek answers to my fears and uncover His truth. For this reason, the vast majority of this book hinges on Scripture as the foundation for overcoming my shortcomings. 

I am reminded of the story when Jesus was asleep in the boat with His disciples.  A great storm arose, tossing the vessel with violent force. In fear for their lives, the disciples woke Jesus to tell Him they were about to die. Jesus stood, rebuked the storm, and then turned to them with the piercing question: “Where is your faith?” 

In my own case, the storm represented the anger I carried toward life because of the idea of the shadow of death. I lived in a constant state of frustration, unable to understand “Why life if death is the inevitable result?" I came to realize that if I ever wanted to live in peace, I would have to increase my faith in the Almighty. And I also knew that if I ever overcame this fear, I would be tasked with helping others by sharing my journey and pointing them toward the truth I had discovered. 

This book is my attempt to be obedient to that calling. I pray it helps you navigate your own thoughts and experiences, especially those that mirror the challenges I once faced.
